We will meet at 5 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Turtle + the Wolf in Upper Montclair, N. J. for our annual “Odd Lot” wine dinner.
Chef Lauren Hirschberg grew up in Montclair. After college, he attended the French Culinary Institute (NYC), then worked for 13 years at Chef Tom Colicchio's Manhattan restaurants, moving from line cook at Craft to culinary director of the group.
In 2015, Hirschberg created Turtle + the Wolf, realizing a dream from his Montclair High School days. He named his restaurant for two clans of the Lenni Lenape tribe that populated the area that became New Jersey.
Our chapter has had the pleasure of dining at Turtle + Wolf several times in the past. I know this will be an outstanding dinner with Chef Lauren Hirschberg's creative cooking and excellent wines from our cellar. As this will be our annual “Odd Lot” dinner, we are featuring bottles of wine which we enjoyed at prior dinners. John Foy has asked that I emphasize one of the stars from the last few years -- the double-magnum of the 2008 Antinori Tignanello that will be poured at the dinner. The other double magnums were poured at our 2023 Holiday dinner at the Pleasantdale Chateau. For those who missed the dinner this is the last opportunity to taste Antinori’s most sought-after wine, and those who were at the 2023 dinner this is the last call to savor a delicious wine from a large bottle that all wine collectors want.

Reception is our standard 5 PM; our four-course dinner commences at 5:30 PM.
You are welcome to invite guests, especially anyone you are considering nominating for membership at our December induction dinner.
